Julie came to the hospital as a consultant in 2008 and was eventually hired full time in February 2010. Her impressive professional background includes a B.S. in Nutrition, Coordinated Undergraduate Program in Dietetics from the University of Alabama, 1989; worked in a hospital clinical setting at DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL, 1989; provided extensive work with the Head Start program in Port St. Lucie, FL, 2006; taught college-level in-class and online high school students basic nutrition at the Indian River Community College in Stuart, FL, 2005-2007; and consulted at several nursing homes in Port St. Lucie and Stuart, FL, 2005-2007.
Among Julie's greatest assets is her constant desire for improving on the quality and versatility of the menus; her constant evaluation of the nutritional value of every meal; her close attention to the customer's requests, and her ever-obvious, beautiful and engaging smile. "When we plan our menus, we really work hard on the appearance (presentation), texture and, of course, the taste of each selection," said Julie. "Some days are better than others - take today for instance," she noted. "We had comments from our customers stating that they hated the menu today because we had too many good things to choose from," smiled Julie. "And that is a great problem for us," she added.
